Understanding quality presets
Learn how audio bitrate and video resolution affect quality, file size, and compatibility.
Presets are requests, not guarantees
A preset asks TurnMp3 to use the closest available stream for that quality. If the original upload does not include a matching resolution or audio stream, the converter uses the best practical alternative.
Audio bitrate
Higher MP3 bitrates can preserve more detail, but they also create larger files. For speech, a smaller bitrate may be enough. For music, 256kbps or 320kbps is usually a better fit.
Video resolution
Higher video resolutions use more storage and bandwidth. Choose 1080p for crisp desktop viewing, 720p for a strong size-to-quality balance, and lower presets for quick sharing or smaller screens.
